Meet Paul

Paul Hansen is a third-generation laundromat owner from Chicago, Illinois, with a career spanning over three decades in the laundry industry. His journey began in his teenage years, assisting in the family business, which laid the foundation for his extensive expertise in laundromat operations.

After earning an undergraduate degree, Hansen worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for several years. However, his passion for the family business led him to purchase his first laundromat in 1997. Since then, he has owned, purchased, or developed multiple laundromats, establishing a significant presence in Chicago's southwest neighborhoods.

Hansen is the founder of  the Su Nueva Lavanderia chain of laundromats as well as Drop & Dash Pickup/Delivery Laundry service before partnering with Private Equity to form to Laundry Growth Partners, a multi-laundry operator in Chicago. In the first year, he was able to scale the business to 15 stores.  He continues to contribute to the company as a member of its Board of Directors. Demonstrating his commitment to the industry, Hansen serves on the boards of both the LaundryCares Foundation and the Coin Laundry Association, reflecting his dedication to best practices and community enrichment through laundromats.

Hansen's business philosophy centers on integrating his laundromats into the communities they serve. He regularly hosts free laundry days and collaborates with local library systems on book giveaways and educational programs. His stores often include designated spaces for children's literacy and learning, reinforcing his belief that laundromats can serve as community centers. This approach not only provides educational opportunities for children but also fosters a safe and welcoming environment for all customers.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hansen adapted his operations to ensure customer and staff safety. Measures included mandatory mask-wearing, enhanced cleaning protocols, and modifications to transportation services to comply with social distancing guidelines. His proactive response underscored his commitment to maintaining essential services while prioritizing health and safety.

Paul Hansen's career exemplifies a blend of traditional values and innovative practices, positioning his laundromats as vital community hubs that offer more than just laundry services.
